Did you know people are more scared of public speaking than dying?! Yes, the idea of getting up in front of a group of people and speaking is so terrifying to so many people that they’d rather cease to exist on this Earth.

That’s nuts!

Here’s the good news. You don’t have to be a naturally-gifted speaker to wow an audience…or at least prevent an unmitigated and embarrassing disaster. As you promote, you will be tasked with more and more public speaking assignments. From effective briefing training, to presenting to staff, or to a city council meeting or a public town hall, the demand for you to speak in front of others is only going to increase.

And that scares a lot of people!

My guest today is my own speaking coach, Kymberlee Weil. When I was prepping my TEDx talk, Kymberlee was with me every step of the way and she deserves all the credit for making ny talk a success. She coached me for a long time before and after that as well because it was something I wanted to get really good at. I think that I’m a pretty good presenter at this point, and I give all that credit to Kymberlee and her program.

In this episode, we talk about some simple things you can do to make your presentations go from bludgeoning your audience with PowerPoint to an engaging and dynamic experience. There are some simple things you can do to take your audience with you and raise your game when you step on stage, on Zoom, or in front of anyone that is important to you.

Make sure to follow Kymberlee @storytellingschool and check out her new interactive course that is only open for a few more days. You can learn more at storytellingschool.com.
