Scott Medlin, an active police officer and devout Catholic, was struggling with a secret. One that he felt he couldn’t even share with anyone — and certainly not with anyone at work.

After years on patrol and two prior combat deployments with the United States Marine Corps, Scott’s mental attitude and coping skills were starting to slide, and he found himself in a dark and depressed state addicted to porn.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • The moment he realized he had an addiction to pornography.
  • How he lateralled into a toxic culture that sunk him into a deep depression.
  • Why he gave up his dream of being a K9 officer to focus on his family.

Scott Medlin is also an author and still works as a police officer and he is the founder of LEOmotivation.com. His newest book is “Truths Beyond the Police Academy: A Field Manual.” Scott has been featured in PoliceOne, LawOfficer, American Police Beat Magazine, and others.

Scott speaks nationally about leadership, teamwork, and how to build resilience as a first responder. Scott speaks from his own experience and you’ll hear his story plus some amazing lessons and insights into the struggles we all face.

Scott’s willingness to put himself out there with honesty was incredibly impressive and I can’t thank him enough for coming on the show.
