Bruce Valles is the Founder and CEO of Mindbase, a Seattle startup aimed at solving the mental health crisis within public safety. Bruce was motivated to start Mindbase after seeing his uncle’s struggles with mental illness while he was a cop and corrections officer in Arizona.

Bruce has spent the last 12 years in tech, from startups to fortune 500 companies on revenue and operations teams. As an advocate for mental health within the LatinX Community, Bruce has turned his passion and experience on the underserved population of first responders by creating the first and only CAD/RMS integrated detection and intervention platform.

His focus comes at a time during one of the deadliest times of self-inflicted mortality within law enforcement, an epidemic that has outweighed line of duty deaths for the past three years in a row and has been triple digits for over a decade.

In this episode, we talk about how technology is becoming integrated into peer support programs, and how statistics and algorithms are being used by departments to take care of their people to prevent major problems.
